May 2, 2015 –
The first full week of May is annually recognized as National Travel and Tourism Week, a tradition first celebrated in 1984, established by a Congressional joint resolution passed in 1983.
The U.S. travel community has collectively marked the event in a number of creative ways, from staging local rallies and conducting media outreach to securing proclamations and resolutions from local legislative bodies. Each year, localized events are presented in cities, states and travel businesses nationwide to champion the power of travel.
The Brownsville Convention & Visitors Bureau will host the 3rd Annual Brownsville Travel & Tourism event on Saturday May 2, 2015 at the Scale House Visitor Center 1700 E 6th Street from 9:00 am – 12:00 noon.
If you'd like to set up a booth contact Felix Espinoza Jr. at the Scale House Visitor Center (956) 546-3898 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.

Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity that offers everyone in the community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of people camp out at a local high school, park or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a member on the track at all times during the event. Teams have fun while raising much-needed funds to fight cancer, and raise awareness of cancer prevention and treatment. Relay For Life brings together millions of people from all walks of life—friends, family, coworkers, caregivers—all with the common goal of eliminating cancer. No matter who you are there’s a place for you at Relay.
