“Argo” and “Sinister” Couldn’t Take Down “Taken 2″

This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding.For the second week in a row LIAM NEESON’S “Taken 2″ ruled the box office. It made another $22.5 million this weekend. That was enough to force BEN AFFLECK’S “Argo” to premiere in second place with its $20 million haul.
–As for the other new releases, ETHAN HAWKE’S thriller “Sinister” made $18.3 million in third place . . . while the KEVIN JAMEScomedy “Here Comes the Boom” finished in 5th place with $12 million.
–And despite its ensemble cast, “Seven Psychopaths” had a weak opening making just $4.3 million. But a 9th place finish isn’t too bad when you consider that it was only playing in about 1500 theaters, about half as many as the films above it. Here are this week’s Top 10 movies:
1.) “Taken 2″, $22.5 million. Up to $86.8 million in its 2nd week.
2.) (NEW) “Argo”, $20.1 million.
3.) (NEW) “Sinister”, $18.3 million.
4.) “Hotel Transylvania”, $17.3 million. Up to $102 million in its 3rd week.
5.) (NEW) “Here Comes the Boom”, $12 million.
6.) “Pitch Perfect”, $9.3 million. Up to $36.1 million in its 3rd week.
7.) “Frankenweenie”, $7 million. Up to $22 million in its 2nd week.
8.) “Looper”, $6.3 million. Up to $51.4 million in its 3rd week.
9.) (NEW) “Seven Psychopaths”, $4.3 million.
10.) “The Perks of Being a Wallflower”, $2.2 million. Up to $6.2 million in its 4th week of limited release.
