–Here’s the deal: Cee Lo has re-worked the RAMONES’ 1976 classic “Blitzkrieg Bop“ into a new song called “I Love Football”. Obviously, the lyrics are different . . . but it keeps the chorus: “Hey! Ho! Let’s Go!”
–The intro isn’t just video of Cee Lo performing the song, it’ll also include clips of football fans joining in. Even better: The opening will be different every week, and it’ll specifically feature fans of the two teams playing that night.
–If you want to participate, hit up Fanthem.nfl.com and create a video of yourself performing “I Love Football”. You can do the whole thing . . . just the “Hey! Ho! Let’s Go!” chant . . . or one of several other pre-selected options.
(–To hear Cee Lo’s “I Love Football”, you have to go to Fanthem.nfl.com and pretend you’re making a video. Select your team, and click on Cee Lo next to “Sing Entire Anthem”. Or, you can just grab it from Delicious Audio.)
–By the way, Cee Lo is putting out a holiday album this year. He says, quote, “It’s definitely a great soulful spin on Christmas classics. I did a version of ‘You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch’. That says a lot. Just ponder on that.”
–There’s no title or release date yet.
